Newcomer!!! (plan to live in Geneva this summer)
Hi!!!

My name is Katya, I am Ukrainian. I am in the Netherlands now, but, if everything goes well with deadlines and arlines, I plan to come to Geneva for summer internship in July.

I thought it would be nice to get friends in this beautiful city before coming :)

So, a bit about myself:

I am 23 years old, public health student, hoping to graduate by September. Speak Russian, Ukrainian, English and very-very-very poor French :) (though I hope to improve it by summer :hehe:). I like to read a lot, to meet new people, to travel, to dance, and also to play "Chto-Gde-Kogda", which is a very interesting intellectual game, popuilar among Russian-speaking people from all over the world.

I am looking for a room for my summer stay (July 9th- August 29th), preferrably at a reasonable price. So, if you hear anything about:

- room rent,

- apartment share,

- subrent,

- etc,

for this time, I'll be very grateful for this information. I am a perfect housemate, so don't hesitate ;)

Kind wishes,

Katya

Hi Katya,

Welcome (soon) to Geneva!

You'll be arriving at a perfect time: summar! Summer in Geneva is terrific: good sunshine, the lake, parks, and lots of people in a good mood!

About apartments: you probably already know that the real estate market here is tough. But check out the Geneva apartments section on glocals (where there's lots of sub-lets), and this apartment web site.

Where will you do your internship, and for how long?

All the best,

Nir

Good luck on the apt hunting.

There's several glocals members who work for WHO...do a member search according to 'company you work for', and you'll probably find some of them.

Hi Katya!

I am new to glocals.com as well and I'm trying to find out people with the same life paths and tastes.

I am from a former USSR country, particularly from Azerbaijan. I am studying here law and if everything goes well will stay here till late December. As you may already expect, I do speak Russian and I would love to put myself through the test of "Chto-Gde-Kogda", though I've never done it before and though I'll definitely lose you! :D

I hope that you have already found a place to stay and that everything goes as planned.

Despite being an expat here, I would be more than happy to help you here as much as I can.

If you wish to get to know each other and possibly make friends, I would be delighted.

Yours,

Rustam
