What brings you here?

Have a great time on glocals. It's a great way to meet people, both online and in person. There any number of activities to participate in. I don't know much about what's going on in Lausanne, but there are some great things going on here in Geneva, if it's not too hard to reach here.

Hope to see you at some glocals event soon, be it here or there!

If by "debate club" you mean an excuse to go down to the pub and talk about everything and nothing, then yes.

if they have draft guinness, yes.

I haven't been lurking that long... but long enough to find out a couple of things which, for now, I'll keep to myself. Could be useful for future blackmailing opportunities ;)

Work brings me here (from what I've read it's either work or love that brings expats to Switzerland). I've had a look at the Lausanne events and it seems like there's plenty to be getting on with.

I don't go down to Geneva that often since there's plenty of good pubs to be had in Lausanne. Once I've explored all they have to offer, I may venture further south.

Welcome to Lausanne and welcome to the forum :-) I also moved to Lausanne (from Montreal, Canada) almost the same time as you did. Well, I hope that you have gotten the chance to go around to enjoy the new environment. Oh yes, the life style is much more relaxed here in Switzerland!

BTW, how are you getting along with the French language?

Hmmmm.... French and I have a love-hate relationship. I love it, it hates me and refuses to let me talk it properly. I'm getting there. Slowly.

Well, it's good that at least, it is not a hate-hate relationship! In that case, it would have been very difficult to speak it properly! At least, you have 50% chance to make it to LOVE you :-)
