shipping your car with bank loan on it from the US

Hi there,

Have any of you have experience to ship your car to Switzerland with a bank lien on it from the US? Is it doable, or is there any other way to bring the car, such as not importing to Switzerland but just bringin in to use with the American license plate?

Many thanks for your response(s)

Almost certainly wont be allowed.  Your car is collateral against the loan given so in the event that you don't pay the lender has the right to seize your car and sell it.  So if its in another country on the other side of the world thats going to be very difficult to do.

Check your loan agreement for the conditions that you must abide by - insuring the car, etc, and I would be very surprised if it didnt say you werent allowed to remove it from the state in which the car was lent for more than thirty days.
