Either, the Site-owners create a special style-sheet for the site, or they make the site accessible via some sort of xml-rpc interface that the to-be-written iPhone app could use...

The later approach would make it possible to write other clients for other phones (Android, mostly).

Guardian et.al probably have some more resources to throw at this problem, though.

I don't blame the guys running this place that their hobby can't compete (in iPhone-App land) with multi-million dollar efforts of what are in effect globals corporations (certainly The Times is, as part of Rupert Murdoch's imperium).

I'd add to my glocals wish list, the ability to pick to integrate glocals.com to social networking tools such as tweekdeck. In this way, all glocals.com announcements could be followed along with Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.

My request for a glocals.com iPhone app (must be straight-forward to do) was linked to my increasing use of the iPhone on the move. Trying to use safari when you receive a glocals.com email is just impossibly slow.

So, my top 2 wishes would be, iPhone app + integration with the social networking tools.
