If you and your partner decide to experiment with forms of mild torture, such as going to see a disappointing movie based on a low-quality book, you should agree in advance on a "Safe Word" (or phrase) which either of you can call out if things are going further than you can tolerate. In this case I would suggest a Safe Word such as "This movie is shit - let's go home".
