Hello all!
Once again it was a superb night at the Central Perk for the second round of Open Mic Night. There were many more musicians performing and a much huger audience as well! It was great to see more female performers this time. As well collaborations were on the rise with Robyn/Johnny, Roberta/Laurent, Rick/Laurent, Rod/Rick/Robyn, Jann/Laurent, Gonzola/(forgot name of fabulous Bosanova female singer who blew my socks off...dohhh). In terms of style there was everything from contemporary rock, to Bosanova, to old English hymns(Kiriel) sung, a really great variety. Would like to thank all the musicians and audience who participated to make this round II open mic night a huge success! If you're reading this and were there, post to this thread what was your favorite. We'd love to hear it!

What a great night again! We dont get bored, we sing along, play maracasse, claps hands.... It become increasingly busier and we discover great talents too!

I absolutely loved and was heart broken to leave earlier to go vounteering at the Sindy. Great musicians, great atmoshpere, great Audience ... YOUHHHHHUUUUU!!!!

Thanks again Rick and Laurent for organizing the open mic... and thanks Jonny for letting me sing some blues with you. What a great way to meet up with so many other music lovers/makers and sing along to all the different styles!
I loved the Irish guy... sorry I don't remember his name, and Roberta with her easy style.
Hope there'll be many more evenings like this.

As I had mentioned before, might it be an idea to have an OPEN AIR Open Microphone Night?
One of the suggestions I had was on the big boat that does 4 hour dinner and dancing cruises on the Lac Leman! It can be followed by dancing, though I think we'd have plenty of musicians and repertoires to fill up the evening :)
Gonzalo's and that really pretty and wonderful singer's music were a very moving rythum. Would be nice to have more of those. I'd be happy to collaborate and give it a shot on any other latin music and backing vocals if necessary!

My name is Sebastian and I work at The Clubhouse Pub in Pacquis.
I love to play music myself and so recently have taken it upon my self to organise an open mic night for local musicians.
I guessed that there might be a local community of interested people and so if anyone has some tips, contacts, or interest that will help me organise this night, i^d hugely appreciate it.
From a brief look around it looks as though the open mic circuit is limited in Geneva (?) and so hopefully someone will know of someone.
Many thanks and please just message me if you have any feedback.

Sebastian....great that you are working on this, but I would suggest that you start a new thread, not continue one from 4 years ago.
Better yet, pick a night for Open Mic night, and then announce it here. Make it a regular thing, either weekly or monthly, so people can plan on it.
