The DJ was by *far and away* the best I have heard at a glocals event so far (after 18 months of living here). Therefore I felt compelled to start this thread. :-)
The Parc-Party was (to my surprise) a lot of fun. Usually I regret going to these sorts of things for one reason or another, but job well done on food, drinks, music, location.
Commendations to glocals, you're moving in a good direction!

Got to give respect for the DJ indeed! Nice selections and there was already something to call proper sound between the radio hits. I cought my leg quite often bouncing relentlessly :)

I also liked the party. And the DJ'ett (yup, it's a lady!) was TERRIFIC indeed. If you want her contact details for your events I'd be happy to share it with you.
I think we'll do 2 things differently next time:
1. Try to do a better job up-front on managing people's expectations that this is a chill out party where the volume can't go that high, and where's there's no real "content". Some folks got angry the music wasn't louder, and kept asking me "what happens tonight"...(-:
2. Set up some barriers between the party venue and the park, so our area feels more like it's really ours.

In my humble opinion, I think the expectations of it being a chill-out party conflicted with the unexpected awesomeness of the DJ. :-) So I can't blame the folks too much, even though it is true they missed the memo about the plan for it to be a chill-out party.
I don't think the barriers are necessary, but maybe you saw more issues with the situation than I did?

I had what I came from, and loved it!
I'm sorry some people didn't get it, but that was meant to be a chill out party since the very beginning, not a dance party.
Maybe pnaik is right: music was too good not to fell like SHAKIN' IT! 
I also preferred for once not to have 'entrance', 'zones', 'VIP areas' and all this crap that so often cuts the spirit at parties around here.
It was a night to cool down, have a drink, meet new people and enjoy the usual faces.
Even the football fans were cool and relaxed.
You know I love dancing and party-hardy, but I loved the Parc Party just the way it was!
