Accomodation in Verbier/Chablais

Am in Verbier for a couple of days next week - can anywhere recommend somewhere cool to stay either in Chablais (I think that's where the cable car starts) or in the town itself? Thanks

It'll be a bloody long cable car if it starts in Chablais ;-)  Le Chable is the bottom of the valley (where the cable car starts).  Advantages are that you don't have to drive up the hill then walk miles to the lifts cos you can't park, or get stuck up the hill if it snows heavily.  You also have the satisfaction of looking, with an air of smugness, at the millions queueing to get on your bubble at Medran.

Disadvantages are that Le Chable is not very cool at all (a few run down 3* hotels and a couple of local's bars) - and you may regret not staying in the village if you're wanting some Apres Ski (last cable down is about 6/6.30pm).

In Verbier, the "coolest" place to stay is in the hotel above Le Farinet bar in the centre as its favoured by ex-English Rugby Captains - but take your ear plugs for a Friday night.

Of course, everything depends on your definition of "cool". Enjoy! Cool
