Dear fellow Glocalers...
I'm being sent short-noticed to Venezuela for my job (next sunday!).
Is there anything crucial for a swiss gringo like me to know about this country?
-Vaccines/Malaria
-What/who/where to avoid
-etc...
Many thanks! :)

Not the safest place around. A lot depends on where you will be going and with whom. Does your company cover kidnap insurance? (this is not a joke question depending on where in the country you will be traveling).
Here is one link from the Canadian government that might be worth a look. They are normally up to date as there is a lot of Canadian trade and tourist travel to Venezuela. Scroll down for the different topics.

The page gives you some health details as well and some links to other health related sites.

Ok, Thanks!
Just read Swiss recommandations...
Hm. Ton's of things to worry or care about!
Well... If everything goes right, I should be back for Halloween's Party. If you don't see someone half-naked in a gladiator costume, call the Swiss Embassy/Consulate in Venezuela!
