Looking to go somewhere warm for about 10 days mid February...
Thanks for your help!

here they have high discounts on hotels, especially if you book last-minute, at the "price" of not knowing the name of the hotel until you book: www.hotwire.com/uk. You can use the UK site (they do not have a Swiss one yet) and select CHF as currency.

Last minute booth at the airport or lastminute.ch
Thanks! Is it worthy going to the airport?
You could get plane tickets in advance to the destination of your choice. Then keep an eye at Booking.com for available hotels. The later you book the cheaper it gets. I worked in a hotel in the past in Amsterdam and hardly ever did any other travel agency beat the prices on there. On Booking.com Hotels are themselves responsible to put in available rooms and the price. Prices tend to change every day when you get close to your day of arrival. Walking into a hotel saying “I saw your price on booking.com” Mostly doesn’t work. You really need to book online to be able to use the offer.
However if you see already that most hotels are full, it`s better not to try this trick. Some will say "last 2 rooms", but this is just for marketing purposes.

It sure doesn't hurt.
www.whichbudget.com for flights
wow thx so much for this 'insider tip'
I also prefer booking my own trips than going through travel agencies - they always just refer you back to their catalogues, not helpful...
but this time I don't seem to find any good deals...
