Car share or cheapest way to Vienna February Ballseason?

Hello Wiener-Girls and Guys,

Would anyone have a good idea of what the best and cheapest (and least

troublesome) way of going to Vienna would be - except by plane?

I am considering going to Vienna for the Ballseason in

February, around the 15th or 19th, to visit some old friends. I thought perhaps

someone would like to share a car or go by train. I don't drive, so it would be up to

the other person...

This is just an embryotic thought, and I may choose the air-route in the end after all, so I'm just posting this to read what - and how many - good ideas other people have.

I understand that a bus ride would take...16 hours???? (and it costs about 275 CHF return ticket from the Gare Routiere, so the air way is not so bad, albeit not environmentally frinedly).

A car may be different time-wise, and perhaps cheaper?

I am just weighing the pros and cons - price versus comfort here, so please share your thoughts in general (or suggest somethng), I am merely thinking and thinking here.

Cheers and many thanks,

Iz

Train is a good option. Try this link https://www.sbb.ch/mct/wi/shop/b2c/tree.do?key=30. You may get good deals.

Thanks

Budget Airline Baboo fly from Geneva  www.flybaboo.com

sometimes swiss airlines are even cheaper www.swiss.com

Both should be cheaper than train and more convenient
