Did you know that you have the right to receive compensation for a cancelled/delayed flight in addition to a free alternative flight?
After a six months battle with Easyjet, I finally received compensation for a flight cancelled on very short notice. For a period of 6 months I didn't get any reply, but when I stated a certain EU regulation, I received compensation within 2 days!
So I want to share this with you.
The magic words are: "European Regulation No. 261/2004" on compensation and assistance in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delays (2h for <1500 km, 3h for >1500km) of flights.
There are also conditions for cancellations.
