Diving in Thailand - advice
Nov 27, 2007 @ 17:27
I'm interested to go for scuba diving in the second part of December. I've never been in Thailand and any advise you can give is appreciated. How to prepare for the trip, where to stay and so on. I'm also really interested in possible companions.

Hi there
I sailed a lot around these areas (so I admit I am not a diver) but when i was there, there was a lot of discontent about the state of the reefs. They are generally damaged and over-dived (is that a word!). Sorry to share negative info, but it might help when making a decision... koh samui area is not much better either. Head for the more deserted places, or be aware that the reefs are not going to be fabulous before you arrive! Maybe others who have dived in this area would correct me...
As it is, there are LOADS of fabulous things about these areas which would make any disappointments with the reefs fade into the background ;-)
