Hi, I'm thinking about a trip around Thun lake and Interlaken is called a tourist 'capital' of the region. But in travel guides I found nothing about any particular sights in the town, only some mountains/caves around it. So is Interlaken itself worth visiting?

Yes it is, there is a lovely walk along the river which we did recently.
Interlaken is a lovely little town and quite fun to walk from one lake through to the other.
