Due to last minutes strikes in Italy, trains from Geneva to Milan on Thursday July 8th and 9th have been cancelled.
Does anyone need to go to Venice or Milan on Friday July 9th afternoon/evening and would be happy to share the ride by car?

Can't really help, but if you wish to make your way to Italy by train, you may find a list of 'running' trains on:

For example, if you arrive to Brig one hour earlier than your trip, then you would find a train (from Bern) regularly serving Milano.
