check out tripadvisor, they have alot of restaurants and bar 'rated' by members.

If you have a car and enough time, go to Saint Paul de Vence (very close to Vence, 20 minutes from Nice).

I have stayed at the Best Western Alba in Nice, it is fine but nothing exciting...

Had a good meal at a restaurant called Papayou which is located in a little cobbled alley way not far from the coast in the city centre

One thing to be careful of is that if you are going 'out of season' then a lot of places might not be open all the time. I found a lot of restaurants closed on Sunday/ Monday last September.
