I went to the cabinet at Av. de France because something hurt. The dentist told me with horror that it was all infected, that I had to change the dead tooth and this probably because I had a bad hygiene... but the specialist was in Carouge so I had to make an appointment.

Besides, she asked me to come back in 2 days for a control. I came back two days later : she presented a contract of several thousand francs for a whole set of treatments I did ask for (only esthetic stuff) and gave me a pen for immediate signature. And was offended that I said I needed to see the specialist first about the hurting tooth before doing anything else.

The specialist in Carouge told me that everything was fine, a small piece of my tooth broke because I like eating apples, which are too hard for my teeth. She gave me some analgesics and that was it (20 minutes).

It appeared to me that some dentists there are absolutely not serious.

My son went for an hour's cleaning with a voucher worth 99.00 CHF. I took them less than an hour, but they took an x-ray without asking him and charged a supplement of CHF 39.60 (they charge separate for sterilisation of instruments). OK, no big deal.
They told him he had a big cavity and gave him another appointment. This time they took another x-ray and told him the bill for one composite filling would be 420 CHF. He refused and was told that he already owed them 95 CHF for the consultation. He felt trapped, so he accepted. And the end, he (I, since he is still a student) got a bill for 422 CHF for one cavity and one filling!!!

Judging from the fees mentioned below, it seems the price varies quite a bit, according to who the patient is...

Geneva is expensive but this is clearly a rip-off. Using composite without asking if you are allergic to it is very unprofessional. My son is not allergic, but he hurt for two weeks.
Beware of the Clinique Dentaire, it gives Geneva a bad name!

I would like to give it 0 star, but that does not seem possible.

what to do? Geneva is the most costliest city. With this money you could go and come back to India. 600CHF(Too and Fro to India). Filling for one tooth just 10 CHF and Root Canal for one tooth in India is not more than 100 CHF. That too in a very good hospital and time of your choice. if you search in the net Medical Tourism in India you will come to know by yourself.

I did go to Accacias there Dr Ligia Shaw is very knowledgable and professional. Regarding the cost i did a research, more than the doctor other cost in Geneva also is high. What to do?

In my case they had given the exact quotation. i guess you should try Accacias.

Went to the Acacias (rue de la Gabelle) location with a buyclub voucher. My dental hygienist was very nice, and spoke better english than french.
The cleaning was well done and, however never really pleasant (it's still 50 mn lying with mouth open and dentist machines noise) almost without pain.

I recommend this place and I will go back there at full price for my next dental cleaning, care or check-up.

It is close to town, with young and friendly personnel and really convenient to pop in in a working day.
Typically, the first time you join a dental practice, even if it is a routine visit, you are seen by the dentist. Instead, I was seen by a hygienist. The cleaning was ok.
My experience with administration and orthodontist was very disappointing. I was given appointments which were never passed on the agenda of the practice and had to wait for over an hour. Also, I am afraid that at the moment there is no qualified orthodontist at the practice and my follow up experience was a disaster and cost over 1000 CHF.
I would not recommend it, especially for orthodontic treatment.

I went to the Avenue de France location based on the reviews I read here at glocals and I was very pleased with the service. The first time I went in for a cleaning and a check up and I was seen on time and the doctor was very thorough and friendly (and easy on the eyes as well) while the office staff was very professional and nice. The cost was about CHF 250, which I think is very competitive for a cleaning, check up and x-rays.

I had to go back t have two fillings replaced and that time I had to wait, but the dentist apologized profusely and said the previous patient took longer than expected. It cost about CHF 375 to replace the two fillings.

They have late hours (I had one appoint at 6pm after work) and conveniently located and they speak English, French and Arabic. I will definitely go back.

I went for a cleaning at the Avenue de France location and I was impressed with the service. They were very professional and able to answer all my questions. I would recommend this clinique to others.

"If I could give them 6 stars, I would.

I went there for a check up, for a filling, and for cleaning. I was well impressed with:

- the politness of the service. From the reception to the Dr, they are so nice! And the speak English.
- the cleaness and professional feel of the place.
- the actual treatment. I go by 1 criteria: the lack of pain. I got a filling, and didn't feel a thing.

I paid around CHF 250 for the filling. No idea how this rates vs other dentists.

In short - really recommended.

"My husband was very happy with Martha and Dr Shaw (rue de la Terassiere): both very professional, explained everything. The price was also reasonable for changing the filling and fixing the tooth - 200CHF. The cleaning was a bit pricey - 160CHF - but certainly worth it! He said he wouldn't go to other dentist."

"I am currently doing Invisalign (instad of metal), it took 2 months!! to start correction. either administrator forgot to write my name in computer, or the doctor thought I will come at another address.. process was going slowly. sometimes feel uncomfortable because of their extreme (false) politeness."

"Just went - and will go back... The staff is welcoming and professional, the material is high tech, and if you show up on time, you'll be looked after on time, never had to wait. My tooth looks like new... so I'll go to renovate a couple more.
I can therefore only recommend their services for anyone who needs it.

"Thanks to reading review of fellow member, I decided to finally go to the Ave de France and was ever so pleased with the service, quality, staff members, latest technology and of course great end results.

They gave me an estimate before my major work and then was pleaslantly surprised that their rates were much more competitive than another place I had visited."
