Visiting Alsace: Koenigsburg castle + Colmar
Saturday, October 25th, 2014 @ 10:00
Selestat, France, Basel
This weekend we'll say farewell to daylight saving time, as we wind the
clock one hour back. Before the dark afternoons and darker evenings kick in, shall we have one more trip under the sunlight?
The idea is to spend Saturday in Alsace, visiting the medieval (albeit
reconstructed) castle of Koenigsburg, as well as walking around the town
of Colmar.
The plan in short: meet at 11:18am on Saturday at the entrance of Selestat train station and catch the shuttle bus to the castle. Mind it, the bus leaves just 7 minutes after the train arrives, so it might make sense to meet aboard the train already: shall we meet on the front coach of the train?
After visiting the castle, if you're not in a hurry to go back to Basel, we could spend the rest of the afternoon sightseeing in the picturesque Alsatian town of Colmar (that, among others, inspired Miyakazi for the setting of the animated movie "Howl's Moving Castle")
****** how to get to Selestat, and how to come back alive ******
Let's meet at 11:18am on Saturday at the entrance of Selestat train
station. I won't hop aboard at Basel SBB, but at Mulhouse.
Recommended train is:
Saturday, October 25th
Basel SBB Gleise 30-35 ab 10:21
Sélestat an 11:18

Last but not least, remember the ID card/passport! And if you have
questions/doubts/Hamlet-like dilemmas, feel free to text me ( +39 329
