Chäserrugg (Käserück) & Säntis
Saturday-Sunday – 2018 August 4-5
St. Gallen – Difficult The Säntis is a famous landmark in north-eastern Switzerland. Saturday we hike an easy trail to the Chäserrugg with an impressive view of the Walensee far below. We might see ibex. Dinner on the summit. Cable car down. Sunday we ascend a somewhat exposed trail on the apparently impenetrable 700 meter high face of the Säntis. Then we follow a beautiful alpine landscape with some easy rock scrambling. The summit block is accessed by 50 m of nearly vertical metal pegs. Six countries are visible from the summit. Cable car down.

4) Are you able to walk for 6 hours over vertiginous terrain? What is the most difficult hike you have done in the last year?.
5) Are you an International Ski Club of Geneva member?

To Bring: good boots, hat, at least 1.5 litres of water, picnic lunch, sun screen, sun glasses, rain gear, collapsible ski poles (optional), warm coat, gloves.
Price: 110-150 CHF (depending on ½ abo. vs full), including hotel & cable cars. Plus 20 CHF for non-members Plus Train ½ abo. - 125 CHF; full - 250 CHF.
Buy your train tickets individually before departure: Geneva to Nesslau-Neu St Johann, roundtrip
Rendezvous: Saturday August 4 at 6:00 at Cornavin train station for 6:12 departure on platform 3. Take the second car from the back of the train. Bill will board in Nyon
