CineTransat: The Boat That Rocked

Saturday, July 14th, 2012 @ 18:30
near Perle du Lac restaurant on the lake between Butini tram stop and WTO, Geneva
Brought to you by Pirate Radio!
After Friday's cancellation and to unwind after the Lake Parade, The Boat That Rocked tells the story about a pirate radio station docked in international waters and broadcasting Rock and Roll music (gasp!) in 1966 while the British government does all it can to shut it down.
Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman and one of the best soundtracks in recent memory make this a GREAT movie worth watching.
This is also the first of the "Theme Evenings" for this season. Be adventurous and come watch the movie decked out in your best 60s fashion.
========
CineTransat is a free, open-air movie festival that runs every summer in Geneva for six weeks. It's on the lake, between the train station and the botanical gardens, near the Museum of History of Sciences and the Perle du Lac restaurant.
Movies start at sundown and you have to prepare for chilly evenings, as you will be sitting still for about 90-120 minutes while watching the movie. In other words, dress warmly, bring sleeping bags, or blankets, etc.
I tend to get there between 18:00 and 19:00 to lay out blankets - FRONT ROW, DEAD CENTER - for "our group" and then we have a picnic and hang out until sundown. Look for the garden torches marking our spot. Please sign up if you are going to join us and bring friends!
