Come by for a FREE drink and learn how you can make a real difference in the fight against poverty for FREE! 6-10PM
What’s the cause for celebration? Seven years ago, Kiva launched a community experiment to crowdfund microloans for the world's working poor. Their vision was to raise awareness and make it possible for anyone with an Internet connection and $25 to take action against global poverty.
Kiva makes it possible for each of us to realize the power we have to lend our support to individuals, from helping a student attend school in Kenya, bringing clean energy to families in Cambodia, to helping a small business in Bolivia. Kiva’s lending teams and an engaged online community of 835,000 lenders have helped to crowdfund almost $360 million in loans to 880,000 people in more than 66 countries, creating huge change around the world in the lives of the poor. You can help alleviate global poverty by joining the Geneva Kiva community.
Do the poor want charity? Not really. What they want is dignity and what they NEED is economic opportunity.
Right now, you can try Kiva for FREE! To learn more, please visit http://www.kiva.org/invitedby/dj5995
