Haiku Workshop at Japanese week-end in Vernier - Nov 10

Saturday, November 10th, 2012 @ 17:00
Maison Chauvet-Lullin, rue du village 57, Vernier, Geneva
Vernier turns Japanese on November 9, 10, 11!
Let's join the haiku workshops on Nov 10 at 5pm and Nov 11 at 2:30pm. Meeting point is directly inside the building at the place dedicated for the workshop.
Apart from the haiku workshops, ikebana will be on display and origami theatre as well as tea ceremonies will be shown. The full program is available on http://www.vernier.ch/fr/actualites/evenements/welcome.php?action=showevent&event_id=483483
See you there!
Haiku 101:
- with the belief that constraints foster creativity, we go by the traditional rule ie a haiku is a Japanese poetic form consisting of 17 syllables in 3 phrases of 5/7/5 syllables respectively
- the phrases don't have to (and actually should not) rime
- according to traditional rules, a haiku should contain a "kigo" which is a key word hinting at a specific season
- haikus can be written in any language
See the group's page for more details (and if you like it, please "like" ;-))):
