Hello everyone;

Le bacon des Mémises is located above Thonon. We hike alternating between paths in forest, climbing (easy) in big blocks of rocks, and stroll along the crests, with all along the course a magnificent panorama on the Léman. The only difficulty of this itinerary remains the Hunters' ladder, but it doesn't not require any specific skill to climb it. See the pictures :

We meet at 9h30 am on the dot at the bus stop of Douane-Veyrier (bus n°8).
- We have places for 6 people (depending on how many cars we get).
- Do you have a car ? Then, you can take 2 or 3 peoples more.
- For now, there are 2 cars for sure;
> The starting point is about 60 km from Veyrier-douane. We share the cost of petrol (about 7chf.- per person).

Hike duration : 4h30 for a slow walker (which I am)
Elevation : 530 meters.
Altitude : 1674 meters.

Get enough water, something to eat, hat, sun cream, good shoes, your camera and some sticks if you like to protect your knees.

We should be back at around 17H00 or 18H00 at Veyrier-Douane.
