Easy Snowshoe Hike La Givrine, St. Cergue, Canton Vaud
Saturday, March 14th, 2015 @ 10:30
Nyon Railway Station,, Lausanne
As some of you have expressed a desire to go snowshoeing in the local area, to Nyon and Geneva, I propose an easy one at La Givrine (total of 6.5 k).
Ideally you should have your own sticks and snow shoes; if not hire them beforehand.
We will meet at the little train station behind the main Nyon Railway station at 10.30 a.m. You may find it easier to buy a Mobilis Day ticket for the trains depending from where you are coming. We will get down at La Givrine and come back from St. Cergue. This is not a loop. Please bring a picnic and sufficient drinks. According to what time we finish, we will get a hot drink together and/or something to eat. At that point you will be free to go back to St. Cergue station to catch the train if you so wish or remain with the group back down to Nyon. This will be in a group of not more than 10 people and I ask those attending to be attentive to other group members and to keep together. It will not be a race.. Please make sure that you are also adequately insured. I also ask that you give me your name and telephone no in advance and to pull out in due time if you are not sure about attending on the day.
Looking forward to a sunny day and to walking with people of a "sunny disposition" :) This snowshoe hike will be cancelled in case of bad weather.
