Medium length hike from St Luc, ascending to the Meidpass at 2790m, descending to Gruben in the Turtmann valley. Hiking time about 5 hours, plus stops. Distance about 12km, with 600m height gain and 1000m height loss. Great views of the Weisshorn etc from the pass.
We will do this Swiss-style, starting early to minimise the risk from storms in the afternoon.
Please note this is for fit, experienced walkers, who are able to sustain a good pace to keep to planned times, both uphill and downhill. For this reason I'd prefer to take people who I know from experience can handle it. It's a group activity so we walk as a group. Sorry but it’s unsuitable for kids or dogs.
The hike is partly at high altitude and, as with most of my other hikes this year, I have not done this route before.
Please bring suitable hiking gear, a picnic and plenty of water.
