** Camping and Hiking/Climbing Ticino 10-13May**
Thursday, May 10th, 2018
Locarno, Lausanne
In serious need of some outdoor therapy??
Join me for a few days of hiking, climbing and exploring in the area around Ascona-Locarno!!
I will be staying on www.camping-piccoloparadiso.com from Thursday May 10th to Sunday May 13th. Ticino's two most popular climbing sites, Pontobrolla and Torbeccio are at walking distance and the Vallemaggia (the Magic Valley!) offers stunning hikes, with waterfalls and gorgeous little villages, you know.. the lot!
After arriving on Thursday, I propose a leisurely hike in the area to explore. Friday and Saturday there will be climbing and hiking options with end-of-day get-togethers over beer and bbq's. Back home on Sunday after maybe a nice morning coffee and stroll in Ascona.
The climbing options in this region are numerous, for all levels and for all types of climbing. It is one of the most popular sites so it might be a little busy.
I will be tempted to hike and come up with some interesting routes for the non-climbers. I have never been here before so an adventurous spirit is required :-)
Please organise your own accomodation. If you are not a camper, the campsite offers chalets to share as well... Please note that the campsite does not take reservations in May but we can phone ahead, there should be place available.
I am counting on Ticino to deliver on nice weather promises..Looking forward to it!!
