World-famous for its regenerating hot springs, Leukerbad (Loèche-les-Bains) is an iconic location devoted entirely to wellbeing.
Located at the heart of Valais at an altitude of 1,411 metres between the Daubenhorn, Balmhorn and Torrenthorn mountains, Leukerbad is the favourite destination of those who love the tranquillity of Switzerland, its pure air and its breathtaking panoramic views. This natural site is among the most popular in Switzerland.
The 10 kilometer-long Gemmi Pass links Leukerbad with Kandersteg in the Canton of Berne. This famous, precipitous route is steeped in history and has been in use since at least the Roman Era. Today the pass is still very popular with hikers and offers snowshoe trails, cross-country skiing and a great toboggan run in winter.
Program:
Friday: arriving, accommodation, hiring the cross country ski or snowshoes, dinner, thermal bath
Saturday: cross country skiing, snowshoeing or sledging, swimming in the thermal baths, dinner, fun
Sunday: trip to Gemmi, spa, heading home

I plan to cross country skii and welcome all to join me, also beginners. But those who want to ski or to have the own program are welcome too.

Beginners need the classic cross country ski or the ones which can be used for classic and skating at the same time. The ski must be waxed according to the actual temperature.The rent costs 38 Chf together with the cross country skiing shoes.

Don't forget warm and waterproof clothing please, very important are warm and waterproof gloves. Also the swimming suit for the thermal baths.
Please note that everybody is responsible for the own safety and that health and accident insurance valid for Switzerland is a must. Highly recommended insurance for the mountain adventures is Rega.
Because the event is coming soon, those who pay the accommodation will be confirmed. I have reserved double rooms for us. The price for two nights is 198 Chf. The entrance to the thermal baths and cable car is included.

Travel details:
I will go by IC train on Friday 29.1. at 10:02 to Visp, than change to IR to Leuk. From Leuk to Leukerbad with the bus 471.

The connections run every hour. The last train from Zurich, possible to take is at 19:02, because the last bus from Leuk to Leukerbad is at 21:38.
You can also organise a car transportation via comments, those who have cars can share the costs.
