Haiku First Anniversary Meeting
Thursday, January 31st, 2013 @ 19:30
Plainpalais (exact address will be communicated to confirmed participants), Geneva
This month, we are celebrating the first anniversary of HEGG (Haiku Experience Group Geneva) -- together, we have now been through a complete sequence of seasons in Geneva, and we are starting to learn and walk ;-) -- thanks to all of you who have made this possible!
Our anniversary meeting will be a little special: we will meet at the studio of a talented photographer and will explore the links between image and word, photo and poetry. Be ready for some surprises and loads of lively discussions!
Because the studio has limited seating capacity, the total number of participants will be limited to 9 people. Preference will be given to regular participants for this meeting. The location is in Plainpalais and the exact address and door code will be communicated to confirmed participants only, 24 hours before the event. If you registered but can't make it in the end, please be nice and unregister so that someone else can take your place!
Since we will be in a private place, not in a bar, a small voluntary participation will be suggested at the end of the meeting in order to contribute to the cost of drinks and snacks.

Haiku 101:
- with the belief that constraints foster creativity, we go by the traditional rule ie a haiku is a Japanese poetic form consisting of 17 syllables in 3 phrases of 5/7/5 syllables respectively
- the phrases don't have to (and actually should not) rime
- according to traditional rules, a haiku should contain a "kigo" which is a key word hinting at a specific season
- haikus can be written in any language
See the group's page for more details (and if you like it, please "like" ;-))):
