On February 3 last, avalanche risk too high, we were not able to go to Mandallaz. We will go on this Sunday.

This Sunday, March 17th we will "visit" a nice southern summit of Aravis: Pointe de Mandallaz 2277m.
This summit situated in the north of Mont Charvin, with its clear path, offers an extraordinary view over the whole landscape. ...
From Gaillard we drive to Thônes, Manigod and Sous l’Aiguille 1158m. From there we go up to Aulp Fier d'en Bas, Champ Tardif and top.
Altitude gain: 1120m. Distance: 14 km. Oxygene 74 cotation : 2C.
This hike has no major technical difficulties. But it is sporty. The final slope is steep.

We meet at Gaillard, behind the customs of Moilesulaz, in front of the Librairie de France at 7:30. Inscription is obligatory.
Equipment: Good shoes, picnic, drink, hat, gloves, gaiters, snowshoes, warm and waterproof clothes. All participants must be well-prepared and have all equipment with them.

The hike is organised by the small hiking association Oxygene 74http://assoc.pagespro-orange.fr/rando-74 There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a daily license of the French hiking federation FFRP.
Passengers in the vehicle pay directly to the driver € 0.10 per km.
