France Voisine, Geneva
On Sunday, August 28, I organize (If the weather is ok) a hike to Mont Charvet. We were there on October3, 2010. It is worthwhile to repeating it. See photos : http://tinyurl.com/hqbz83o
Located in the northern part of Aravis, this summit is partially wild. It is rocky and near the top there are big blocks of rocks to cross.
We will go up from the car park of the Confins Lake (Clusaz). After ascending La Combe De Mont Charvet, we climb the top by his N-W side and descend by S-E.
Gradient gain: 1220 m. Distance: 16 km. This is a quite difficult hike and reserved to well experimented and sporty hikers.
We meet at Gaillard, behind the customs of Moellesullaz, in front of the Librairie de France at 7 :30. Inscription is obligatory.
Equipment: Good mountain shoes, drink, warm and waterproof clothes….
All must be prepared the day before.
The hike is organised by the small hiking association Oxygene 74 http://rando-74.assoc.pagespro-orange.fr
There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a license of the French hiking federation FFRP, including insurance. Gas-sharing charges for those not driving of 0.10 euro-centimes per kilometer.
Formalities: The newcomers are asked to fill out the registration form http://rando-74.assoc.pagespro-orange.fr/Adhesion-Oxygene74-2016.pdf
and deliver it to the organizer on Sunday morning.
