Mont Margériaz has a brief rock scramble up to level III, a fun cave and tricky crevasses to explore.

To bring: headlamp, hiking boots, warm clothing, hat, picnic, water, sweater, sunscreen, sunglasses.

Price: €5 (6 CHF) fee for non-members of Oxygène 74. Plus 18 € (20 CHF) paid directly to the drivers (0.10 €/km) plus tolls to be shared.

Hike description: From col de Plainpalais (1150) in the massif des Bauges, we walk up a steep, grassy ski piste just to the left of the lift, to the top pylon then through bushes to a steep trail with loose rock and then to the base of the summit cliff. We turn right and climb up a tricky bit, then then to a dead end with a surprise :-) at the Trou de l’Agneau. At the summit we explore 3 cracks that one can descend into and walk their length. We descend the somewhat easier route via the Golet de l’Agneau with cables, ladders and iron bars.
