Exploring Thann, with a Witch Eye
Sunday, October 31st, 2021 @ 09:00
Thann, Basel
PLEASE NOTE: on Sunday morning we're back to standard time, as daylight saving time ends this Saturday,
Anyone up for exploring the town of Thann? Besides having one of the finest gothic cathedrals in the region, the town is also famous for its lookout point named "Witch's Eye": we could then find both Halloween atmosphere and a fine lookout point from the ruins of the Engelbourg castle.
As weather is a bit uncertain (cloudy with some sun spells and drizzle), the plan is to follow the route indicated on https://apps.tourisme-alsace.info/photos/thann/photos/239004768_d11.pdf and pursue the Witch's Eye lookout point, as well as the Liberation cross on the other side of the town. As Thann is also famous for being a checkpoint of St Jacques's pilgrim trail, depending on how favourable the weather will be we can either choose to go back from Thann or walk 5km along St Jacques's Way and return from Cernay train station.

Let's meet at Thann train station at 10:35
If you're coming from Basel, recommended train is:
