Ski de fond La Vattay (Jura)
Saturday, December 15th, 2018 @ 08:00
Petrol Station next to Balexert - Migrol Service Shell, Geneva
25cm of fresh snow in the Jura, so let's go to La Vattay for a few hours of ski de fond (ski nordique)
Meeting point: Petrol Station next to Balexert - Migrol Service Shell at 8am. Tram stop Bouchet (tram 18 or 14). We meet inside McDonalds.
From there we drive up to La Vattay (33km from Geneva) up in the Jura. We rent the gear for ski de fond and go for a blue or red piste. We should be back in Geneva around 14h. I ask for a contribution of 10 euros for the transport
--------------------------------- ATTENTION ------------------------------------------
We are going to France, so bring your ID card or passport, plus some cash in euros. The ski pass and the equipment hire is around 20 euros.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ski de fond is an intense physical activity, much tougher in terms of fitness than downhill skiing. The technique, however, is easier than downhill skiing. Nevertheless, if you have never done it, it's advisable to book a lesson with the école de ski de la vattay: https://www.ecole-de-ski-nordique-de-la-vattay.com/r%C3%A9servations-paiements/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER: I'm not a ski instructor and you are coming at your own risk. You can hire accident insurance with your ski pass, only EUR1.20 more.
