* Given the forecast for Saturday is 100% rain, it may be a bit slippery to tackle the range. As alternative, I would suggest we meet at the café and walk around the lake once or twice. We can decide on the day.

The plan is to meet at Café de la Paix in the Grand Rue, get a caffeine fix, then head off up the range through a path that takes us past the waterfall and up to the clearing. A brisk hour up, then back, to be back in time for the markets for lunch, I suggest we head off at 10hr, so we can be back to enjoy the market for lunch. Last time I found myself enjoying a crisp wine by the stream. We will see what takes your fancy.

Moderate gradient, hiking shoes and sticks recommended if you have them, but I did it in sneakers.

Dogs welcome, however, it is chestnut season - which could be tough on precious paws. Mountain bikes can veer down unexpectedly, so I would recommend a leash.

Hike suitable for children over ten; if you have smaller kiddies, the 3km circuit around the Divonne lake is suitable for all, and we could meet up afterwards.
