Ovronnaz not, Lausanne
Let’s HIKE!!
We’ll explore the Tour de la Seya route and enjoy Ovronnaz.
I've only done this hike once before, a long time ago, so patience and good humour will be appreciated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BASIC INFO:
Total Hiking Time: 4.5 hours (approx., including picnic lunch stop)
Elevation: 587 m up - 1159m down
Distance: Approx 10kms
Difficulty: Officially "Medium" but we climb 300 meters in the first 30 minutes so a good level of hiking fitness will be required. And there is a little “vertigo section” with chains, but nothing difficult. (i.e. I can do it)
But it’s NOT a stroll!.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ROUTE:
We go up on the Jorasse chair lift to 1940 meters, then climb another 300 meters for panoramic views over Mont Blanc and the village of Ovronnaz then along the ridge and up another 100 meters for views over the entire Rhone Valley and Trient Glacier.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE ONE AND ONLY MEETING POINT & TIME:
11h00 at the ticket office of the Jorasse Chairlift.
Please note on the board if you can offer a lift, or would like to car share. Public transport is not an option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BRING:
Money:
Chairlift one way – CHF15 approx
Water, sunglasses, picnic lunch and something to sit on.
Walking poles – there’s more down than up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
COMING?
Out of respect for your fellow glocals - be on time - we won’t wait if you’re late so text me if you have queries – 079 834 7292
