Last Sunday because the bad weather we changed our destination (the Etale) and went to La Tournette.
On this long W-E (from December 5th to 8th) we had to cancel our grand hike again because of the bad weather.
Now on this Sunday September 8, we try to go to L’Etale:

On Saturday September 7st, I am organizing a circular hike to the Etale 2483m in south Aravis.
This semi wild summit is the highest in the southern Aravis. Ascent by this route (Rosay and Creuse) to Etale offers the very varied landscapes. Blooming greens, scree, corridor and climb passing.
We start from Comburce 1180m. Then through the Rosay, Creuse, Col de Passet (2032m) and the stony-steep corridor, we arrive at the last summit pass. We climb a passage about 2 m and arrive at the summit.

Down: Back to the end of corridor and take a steep trail, called «Belle Descente». This nice and a bit difficult trail doesn't exist on the map. It get us to Turtle 1364m. Twenty minutes later, we will be at car park.
Gradient gain:1300m. Distance about 10 km. For very experimented and sporty without vertigo hikers.

Appointment: 7:30 at Veyrier Douane, final stop of bus n° 8. Inscription is obligatory.
If the weather is bad we can go on Saturday or change the route or destination or cancel the hike.
Equipment: Good mountain shoes, warm and waterproof clothes, sticks, gloves, hat, drink, picnic, etc. ...
Formalities: The newcomers are asked to fill out the registration form: pour les essayants

and deliver it to the organizer on Sunday morning.

There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a daily license of the French hiking federation FFRP. Passengers in the vehicle pay directly to the driver € 0.10 per km.
