We have not done this walk for a long time - looking forward to it.

As you know you need to wear a mask in public transport. Please respect social distance and do not attend if you have Coronavirus symptoms. Maximum 20 participants.

We will meet at the stop of bus 8 at Rive (rue d'Italie) at 13h30 and take the 13h41 bus direction Veyrier-Douane, getting off at Pont-Sierne (you can also take the same bus from Cornavin Station at 13h33, or come directly to Pont de Sierne by 13h50, for public transport connections see www.tpg.ch - on the Jeûne Genevois, Sunday times apply).

We will walk just a few minutes along the Arve and then go to the left into the Veyrier Forest. We will cross the forest for about half an hour and then come to open terrain, taking country roads parallel to the Saleve, towards the village of Troinex. From there, we will follow the Drize river for a while and then turn to the right - good views over the Compesières church and castle, Geneva and the lake. We will go through the villages of Saxonnex-sur-Arve and Saxonnex-sous-Arve. We will then go to train-tram-bus stop Lancy-Bachet to get back to Geneva.

We will have a little picnic on the way - take food and drinks along, plus something to sit upon.

Distance: about 12 km. and flat - regular walking or running shoes are fine.

We will take it easy and walk for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Expect to be back in town by 17h30-18h00
