I think we should do this book before the movie is released ;-)
Written in 1965, it is once of the most well-known and well-written novels in the domain of Science Fiction.
Set in the distant future, it portrays the struggle between the Atreides and Harkonnen families. On the desert planet Arrakis, the incredibly valuable mineral "Melange" is mined, and the indigenous people "The Fremen" are persecuted and hunted by the Harkonnens.
Despite being a Science Fiction novel, technology takes a back step to the themes of human ability and humility in the face of nature. It has a strong ecological theme, ahead of it's time for 1965 and relevant today.
The novel is widely available, probably at the library (at least in French).
Will be online via Zoom
