On Sunday July 4, because the bas weather, we could not do this hike. So on Sunday July 18, I reorganise the same hike to La Grande Jumelle 2215 m. This uncrowded Swiss Chablais summit overlooks the Tanay valley from the east and Geneva Lake from the west and offers an excellent view over all surrounding area….

We start from the parking La Planche (Novel, St-Gingolph). Ascend to Col de la Croix (Col de Lovenex) , Pas de Lovenex and arrive at the Montagne d’Au (Loz). Down towards Lac du Tanay and at 1665 m alt. go up to Chalet de la Combe. From this chalet, climb to meteorology antenna and climb the summit rocks. These edges are a bit exposed.

Down by same way.

Optional: On the back way we can go down to Tanay Lake, for a pleasant swim. In this case we have to add about 200 m more elevation and about 2 km more distance.

Elevation gain about 1300m. Length about 14 km. Maximum 12 experimented and sporty hiker.

Equipment: Good mountain shoes, warm and waterproof clothes, stick, gloves, cap. drink, picnic. Etc…

Appointment: 7:30 Rond point de Rive (Glacier de Rive) Geneva center. Inscription is obligatory.

There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a license of the French hiking federation FFRP, including insurance. Passengers in the vehicle pay directly to the driver € 0.10 per km.
