Circular hike: Aiguille Croche-Mont Joly 2525 m
Sunday, July 25th, 2021 @ 07:30
Haute Savoie, Geneva
On Sunday july 25 (or Saturday 24, according to weather forecast) I organize a grands circular hike in the Beaufortain chain.
From the place called Petit Lait (Megève) we walk to Altiport (where if there is no place in Pt Lait, we will park the cars there). Then through the roads, trails and forests we arrive at Pré Rosset. Arriving at the cross-roade of Col de Vèry, we leave it on the right and climb a relatively steep ridge to the point 2192 m. It’s nearby the Monument ski lift.
From hier we walk on a long ridge about 4 km and crosse Aiguille Croche 2487m with a slightly aerial part equipped by cable. Tête du Véleray 2452m,Tête de la Combaz 2445m and finally Mont Joly 2525m.
Back: Down by Mont Géroux, Pavillon du Mont Joly, Hermance, Planay and arrive at the Petit Lait.
Difficulty: Major route, long circular trail and a substantial ascent in the first part. The second part consists of aerial courses, requiring a minimum of endurance.
Elevation gain about 1600m. Length about 22 km. But do not be afraid. As we walks on the ridge (up and down) we don't feel much difficulty.
Equipment: Good mountain shoes, warm, cold and waterproof clothes, stick, gloves, hat. drink, picnic. Etc
Maximum 12 very experimented and very sporty hiker.
