For coming Saturday, we will do a new and attractive route starting from Gex.

We will meet at the Cornavin railway station - stop at the Grottes ("back") side of the station at 11h50 and take bus F at 12h01. We will get off at bus stop Gex-Charpak around 12h45 and make our way to the Voie Verte (Green Trail) over the former railway line Bellegarde-Gex-Divonne-les-Bains. We will follow this shaded trail for about five km. until Grilly and then take country roads towards Sauverny Douane (last bus stop in the Canton of Geneva). From there we take the bus to Versoix and then the train back to Geneva.

For getting from Cornavin to Gex, you need a multizone ticket covering zones 10 and 250 (costs 4.60 CHF). If you have a monthly or annual bus pass for Geneva, you can buy an extension ticket for 1.60 CHF. You can buy tickets beforehand or in the bus (using credit card, TPG card or mobile phone). For the way back from Sauverny the regular fare for tickets within the Canton of Geneva applies.

The walk is about 10 km. We will take it easy and walk for about 2 1/2 hours. We will make a stop for a picnic, take food and drinks along plus something to sit upon. Except to be back in town around 17h00.
