Lauanne Eezywalking Gorge de Chauderon

Montreux Station,Platform 5, Lausanne
My favourite place in the region.A beautiful gorge that truly comes alive in springtime.
We take the small train to Les Avants and walk downhill (Eezy!) following the river down to the old village of Montreux.
With a slow walk - as I like to do it - taking in the surroundings, the walk itself maybe takes about 2 hours.At the end of the walk-if people feel like it- we could stop at the lake for a takeaway (!)drink.
The start of the walk is steep so you might need walking poles.The path we follow is narrow at times and there are often parts where you find yourself staring down steep slopes going down to the rushing water so, if that might be a problem for you, please bear this in mind.
We meet at Montreux train station at 13.40 on Platform 5
Our train leaves for Les Avants at 13.50.We arrive at 14.13 which is when our walk begins.
We finish the walk either in Montreux Old Town,or on the lake ,and the station is easily accessible from both places.
Those who sign up will get my mobile number on Sunday morning in case of problems.
A minimum of fitness is required.
