Morzine - boarding lessons

Hi,

I'm off to Morzine 8th-13th to try my hand at boarding, can anyone suggest where to get lessons?

I've tried a couple of places but they only run lessons Mon-Thur, I obviously will be there Wed - Monday. Although I'd love to have private lessons, I can't really do E200 a day!

Thanks in advance.  Alli

if you want to get lessons the weekend before you go you can try going with the international ski club on the weekend. http://www.scig.ch/pro_alp.htm#snow

The Ecole de ski Francais (ESF) offers individual lessons at an affordable price and a 1 hour private session will teach you as much as 2.5 hour group ones!:)

We were there for Xmas and my son did snowboarding with them and he speaks highly about it!

Highly recommend Mint Snowboard School -  www.mintsnowboarding.com They are generally considered to be the best snowboard school in the Portes du Soleil. Instructors are all British natives with the highest BASI qualifications.

One of the Mint instructors has also branched out on his own this year and set up a new school called Pop www.popsnowboarding.com so they're also worth a look.

My personal experience with ESF (not in Morzine) hasn't been great. I think ESF are much better at teaching skiing than snowboarding and I would always choose a snowboard school who have instructors that specialise in teaching snowboarding rather than instructors that do both disciplines (as often snowboarding is their second sport rather than their speciality).

Hi,

I used Ben at Freeride Co. in Champery.

He's american and was just fantastic.

I'm sure he'd come across and meet you in Avoriaz.

Also the rates are much less than say Mint (200CHF for 3 hours versus 200 euros...)

MINT...

...(MINT)...

...MINT!

ESF Snowboard instructors are Ski instructors who know can snowboard, not how to teach snowboarding. They only employ Skiers who can cover a slalom course in under a set time. Not really relevant to teaching snowboarding. If you want to Ski they're great. .
