Try small shops that sell watches or the various charity shops.

Yes. I saw dozens for sale yesterday at the Emmaus warehouse in Thono-les-Bains. Only open Saturday mornings and Monday afternoons. Jewellery section opposite cash desk.

There are bargains in watches (and jewellery) to be found in charity shops, but anything that is of real value is kept in a locked display cabinet and normally only available for inspection in the presence of at least two assistants.  If this rule of thumb isn’t respected, think twice before you buy.

Many thanks, all. Suddenly there are new possibilities! Greatly appreciated.
