I confirm Luigia is very good, no Italian places in Champel as such. Another good one la the new Vicolo 39 but in Carouge, better booking

If you are in for the atmosphere, go to Luigia, food is, in my opinion,  average at best..

If you are in for the food, go to La Gondola in eaux-vives or La trattoria in Cornavin. I don t know of any good italian restuarant in Champel ..

You know, this may sound odd... But look for an Italian restaurant that places real olive oil on their tables... It's a sign that they are generous and offer quality...

just a thought.

Hello,

If you are looking for a real Italian place,  il fornello napoletano,  rue de Lausanne is the true trattoria. The owner receive speaking Italian as everyone could understand him.  Very good employees speak English and French.

Yozcan find very Italian Pizzas but  also very good restaurant.

Honest prices et everything is fresh and last minute made.

Just for  pizza, Chez  marino is OK,  eaux vives.

I don't know about the other places.  But heard from italien people,  that Luigia is just for the atmosphere,  not for food, neither prices.

Let me know and

ENJOY

Boccalino in carouge (Place rondeau) is probably gva's best kept secret.. one of the best pizzas i've had recently...not to mention friendly, attentive and a smiley service :-)

I also agree with the comment about Luigia ...it's great for the atmosphere...good for food... but overpriced :-)
