Hi Carol, i can't help you with the French as I have none to speak of, but would definitely be interested in meeting up for a coffee one day (or wine!)? if you haven't disocvered it yet there's a great little coffee shop called Boreal which has coffee almost like you get back home.

I'm not sure what your timing is (you say "several months"), but my wife is joining me in August and would welcome some social contacts. She won't be working, and coming from a busy life of both full-time work and full-time study to nothing will be hard.

If you are still around by then, it would be good for her to have someone to connect with. She is on gLocals already, but I'm not 100% sure of her username (Juliane S from Australia?).

Hi Katie, no worries about the delay, we are all pretty busy, thanks for the late reply at any rate, better late than never I guess.   What time will you be meeting for drinks on Friday evening?  I may be heading to Verbier for the weekend, will know a bit later in the week, just waiting for the weather, was up there last weekend, beautiful on Saturday and cold and wet on the Sunday, not much fun up there if it is raining!

I arrive on 23 August and would really appreciate your company. I'm planning to do a lot of walking and sightseeing, but also interested in finding good coffee! We have an apartment in Rue Samuel Constant. I need to come back to Australia in early Dec until Feb, but will then be in Geneve for an extended period. I don't know if I will be able to work there as I don't speak French yet.

Oh! that is a quick answer, happy to know you are still there. So there are 2 coffees: either close to the post in Conches or "Moule à Gateau" in Florissant in front of the Coop.
