Nice share, I was thinking about the indirect nature of British English while watching the Hour. Quite difficult to follow actually...
I have the impression that British is too demanding in its 'read between the lines, I confuse directness with politeness' type of structure. But, it might as well be the case that I lived in the Netherlands/Belgium Dutch speaking area for too long :)
