Hey guys,
Need to replace my driver's licence ASAP, but need someone to witness my documents before I send them. Is anyone on here either:
a) a medical practitioner
b) JP or Commissioner of Declarations
c) a Notory Public or a person authorised by law to witness and sign documents
d)a solicitor, barrister or judge
e) a consular or ambassadorial officer
that would be willing to help me out by witnessing these documents?
Thanks so much!

as this is just for my driver's licence. My documents need to be photocopied and certifed as correct copies and then my application also signed. Bit of an emergency as I lost the licence last week then got pulled over by boarder guards yesterday who of course then asked for it!

I'd post this on the "goods and services" GOL board. What you are asking for, is, in essence, free work, by GOL professionals. If someone is nice enough to cut you a deal, great. But this is how people make their living, remember, so perhaps an offer of some payment could be facilitative, and/or someone could potentially help you to find a cheaper alternative to a local, Swiss notary public (and these are all over the city). Asking a GOL lawyer to do this free, is sort of like someone asking you to babysit free, because you work in childcare. You see what I mean??
Have you tried calling the Australian Mission? (phone: 022 799 91 00, email: [email protected]). I know that for Americans, the U.S. Embassy in Bern has a notary service available, for about 50 CHF, for U.S. Citizens. We have to drive to Bern for that, but there it is. Maybe the Australians have a similar service at the local Geneva mission.
I did a search on directories.ch, and if you cut-and-paste this into Internet Explorer, you can see all the phone numbers of notaries in Geneva. You could call and ask them how much they charge, just for a basis idea of what is "normal" rates.
