Good dentist in Nyon, Gland or Rolle?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good dentist in Nyon, Gland or Rolle? Someone you've tried and are genuinely happy with.

Thanks,
Gloriya

No, sorry :( I live in Nyon but still go to my dentist near Geneva train station. I'm very happy with his price :D

There were some good echos (price) about http://www.sdent.ch in Versoix and (general) one dentist in the Dental Clinic in Signy, but can't remember his name :S

Hello Gloriya,

yes I know an English speaking dentist in Nyon - which I am really happy with - he is very gentle and pleasant.

Dr. Carlos Thurre 022- 361 77 61. Av. A. Cortot 7d (going from train station in Nyon towards La fontaine / highway - on the right hand side about 200 m from train station - by the Pharmacy).

Good luck!

Brgds,

Marika

There is a dental specialty center in Clinique Genolier which is close to Nyon.  They are specialists but the prices are fine.  Additionally their chef is Dr. Jaquinet who is one of the best dental surgeons in Switzerland.  They have everything there so I started off just with cleanings, but then I needed a crown and they can do that.    The service has been outstanding.

Hello. Can you give the details of your dentist?

I am rather concerned, now that I am living in Geneva about this matter. Firstly because in Australia dentists do checkups and cleans whereas here it is only a hygenist. Secondly because I am concerned, not so much about the price as locals telling me that dentists here are only trying to take your money and are extremely expensive without having concern for the patient, what is necessary and if they are capable of doing it.

So, I remain apprehensive and look forward to further opinions.

Welcome to Switzerland.  Not only is it the dentistry which operates in this fashion....

LOL, this is funny, because here it is considered that a dentist who works with a hygenist is better than one who doesn't have one, like mine. OK now I have a new different opinion of my dentist Wink

I second that. I had a rather extensive reconstruction done on one tooth a while ago and was extremely satisfied with the result. Great staff, upscale facilities and very decent pricing.

Hello Gloriya - dId you find a dentist at the end? Which one did you go to?

I am in a situation now where I need a dentist and don't know where to go. Or which one of those, in this forum, to chose from!!!!

Patricia - see Julian T's post above.  She's my dentist and I happily recommend her to everyone (including JT).  She's English, very, very thorough and her "unit price" is almost the cheapest* I have found.  Clinident is next to La Combe/Migros centre in Nyon.

* "cheapest" - haha! Its all relevant....

BTW - there's an ocean of difference between "English-speaking" and native English - as I found to my dismay on visiting another "English speaking" dentist in Nyon.  Even a Swiss friend advised "Just because we make the world's best dental tools, doesn't mean we make the world's best dentists"

I also go see Dr. Thurre (after NOT liking Dr. Mirica).   His receptionist is nice and he just kinda *is* (which is a change from my family Dentist is Canada who was always quite exhuberant!).

He doesn't suggest treatments that are unnecessary and doesn't suggest expensive toothpastes (says MBudget is just fine).  Oh and my son (5 now) is willing to work with him.
