Is anyone here a pilot in Switzerland?

Hey!

I was wondering if there is any pilot here who could advise me the right things to do to get in to a Swiss company. Is not for me, but for a Portuguese friend who is a pilot and can't find any jobs in Portugal!

Thank you do much for your help!

Hello Soraia. I work in aviation in Switzerland since almost 10 years or so. Companies are few, and hence jobs are even fewer. Since the national air carrier Swissair was grounded, a lot of Swiss pilots lost their jobs and are looking for them still. In Swiss aviation companies, especially among pilot jobs, the local companies look for seniority and company loyality. I think the chances that your friend finds a job here is not so high therefore, but one should alwas try of course :)

Have a look therefore at the few aviation companiesm, namely in Geneva and Zurich, for jobs on their website. As for licencing, perhaps he/she should contact the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in Switzerland for information on what he/she would need to fly here.

Hope that helps and good luck! :)
